27 imagesI was born in California, so I love to joke that the mother land is calling me back. I enjoy so many things about this state - the warm rich colors that I find in everything from the sky to the foliage, the food which includes a lot of tacos and seafood, and of course the beach. Over the past three years I've collected a set of images that when revisited, made me realize Los Angeles has a very distinct look and feel in my eyes. Expansive, colorful, and sunny, I love capturing the creamy soft color palettes that the beach sunset creates, and the bright reds and yellows I seem to find everywhere. This is a collection of three years worth of visits to the Golden State.
17 imagesI wasn't born in Texas, but a very wise man by the name of Lyle Lovett says: "Texas wants you anyway." Having lived there for 16 years my heart definitely belongs to it. From the food to the music, it is a truly unique place, and one that I love to photograph. Filled with color, life, and amazing thrift shopping, I will always make the time to travel to the great state. Here I traveled to Lockhart TX, the BBQ capitol of Texas, and therefore the World. During a Wyatt Mcspadden workshop we got set up to take some portraits of those working at Smitty's, and of course we got to eat too.
11 imagesDeep rich browns and sweeping skies are what draw me to New Mexico. Taos, New Mexico is famous for its light, and with good reason. It's here I discovered my love for the wide angle. I took a photography workshop in the summer of 2011, and began a project I'm not sure I'll ever stop creating. My series Cinematic Landscapes tell the untold stories I've found in the New Mexico terrain.
